Hello I am Jessica

I am the sea, I practice telepathy, I send my poems out on boats and submarines and whalesongs and albatross. Not literally; I don’t take myself too seriously. I practice spiritual existentialism and expansivism. Magic is calling me. I love falling in love. I have lived in ten cities. Fear is not a barrier. Perhaps I have found access to a spacious inner world where all emotions are beautiful. They are beautiful. My MFA in poetry actually means something to me for the depth of guidance it continues to provide even years later, not just on writing, but living. My first book is an evolution of emotion, a story in poems, written using certain stylistic elements of Julio Cortázar, available here. My second book is a poetry coloring book for adults, and will be out in late summer 2018. And if you’re interested in seeing poetry written on people’s bodies, check out my project Skin on Sundays and my Skin on Sundays Instagram, where I post even more physiopoetry.
